Description: The Alive_EDD_v1 format is a survey-agnostic Alive EDD format that can be used to load Alive data via Collect and Enterprise EDP without requiring the use of separate formats for each Survey Type.

Installation Instructions: This format is available from the Downloads Dashboard on the EarthSoft Community Center (ECC) under Products > Additional Resources > v7.0. An EQuIS_Alive license is required to use this format.

Overview: The Alive_EDD_v1 format contains 6 sections named for the database tables to which they map, as well as a Geography section. Some sections are named for a data table, but it does not mean that it is the only data table to which that section maps. For example, the dt_subfacility section not only maps to DT_SUBFACILITY in the database, but to DT_SPATIAL_EXTENT as well. It is recommended that the EQuIS EDD Description file be reviewed before using this format to commit data to ensure awareness of where data is being committed in the database. Download the EQuIS EDD Description file in EDP or the Enterprise EDP EDD Upload Widget.

Limitations/Assumptions: The following are limitations and assumptions for the Alive_EDD format:

The format is not compatible with EDP Standalone.

Because the format is survey-agnostic, survey_type is an editable field.

ALIVE_EDGE formats that are created using the Alive Survey Definition form default the survey_type value to the value defined in the interface.

Where ALIVE_EDGE formats default the DT_SURVEY_PARAM.PARAM_CODE and DT_SURVEY_OBSERV_PARAM.PARAM_CODE values to “Duration”, the Alive_EDD_v1 format includes individual sections for dt_survey_param and dt_survey_observ_param, each with editable param_code fields.

The object_euid field is required in the Geography section and should be populated with a local EUID value from another section within the format in order to associate the two records.
