Description: The Alive-refvals format is for importing reference values that will be subsequently used elsewhere in the Alive workflow. Depending on the section, the data imported using this format will be used when creating a survey, populating a survey, or running a survey report. Please see the Limitations/Assumptions section below for details on where records from each section of the format will be available within the Alive workflow.
Installation Instructions: This format is included in the installation of EQuIS Professional when the Alive module is selected during the Custom Setup stage of the process. The format mappings require a licensed Alive Schema applied to the database.
Overview: The Alive-refvals format is designed to allow users to import reference values that can be used later when creating an Alive survey.
The Alive_Survey format contains 8 sections that are named according to the reference tables to which they map in the database.
•rt_gender
•rt_habitat
•rt_life_stage
•rt_parameter
•rt_param_type
•rt_taxonomy
•rt_taxonomy_param_type
•rt_taxonomy_parameter
The values in the corresponding reference tables can be exported from an EQuIS database via the RVF Builder Form. Simply export one or more of these reference tables and save as an .xml file by following the steps in RVF Builder. The .xml file can then be loaded in another database as an EDD in EDP using the Alive-refvals.zip file as the Format.
Follow the steps in Reference Values - Importing for more information on using the Alive-refvals.zip format in EDP.
Note: The Alive-refvals.zip format is not meant to be opened in EDGE. |
Limitations/Assumptions: The following are limitations and assumptions for the Alive_Survey format:
•rt_gender Section – Values imported in this section will be used as reference values in the dt_survey_observ section of any configured survey formats.
•rt_habitat Section – Values imported in this section will be used as reference values in the dt_survey section of any configured survey formats.
•rt_life_stage Section – Values imported in this section will be used as reference values in the dt_survey_observ section of any configured survey formats.
•rt_parameter Section
•Values imported in this section will be available in the Survey Fields and Observation Fields sections of the Survey Definition form.
•If configured to be included in a custom designed survey format, values imported in this section will be available in the dt_survey or dt_survey_observ sections depending on whether they are configured as survey or observation fields.
•rt_taxonomy Section – Values imported in this section will be available in the Surveyed Species section of the Survey Definition form.
•rt_taxonomy_param_type Section – Records in the rt_taxonomy_parameter section contain a required param_type field. Values populated in that field must exist in rt_taxonomy_param_type.param_code in either the database or the EDD.
•rt_taxonomy_parameter Section – Values imported in this section will be available for selection in the Taxonomy Parameter Code parameters of the Survey Results (By Survey Type) II Report.
